Why am I talking about making contacts rather than friends here? When we meet strangers we start with an introduction and then take things forward. Thinking about a person as a friend, when you meet them for the first time or a few, is not the right thing to do.
To start making contacts, increase your outside presence. Finding new places to hang out is the first thing to do. If you go out for meals, then make it a point to try a new area every time.
Again, if you choose a restaurant, then changing the crowd scene to a pub or a club can make the difference you require. Even if you do not drink, taking a mocktail, sitting with a snack and saying a hello to a group of single women at a nearby table can happen easily. Hit the co-exercise gym. Talk to the woman who is friendly towards you.
There is something about talking to women on a bus or a train, but make sure you have a reason. You may not like to go to the parks, but making a schedule either in morning or evening can give you access to the single women.
